- Gloria Pacios, a former UPM student, shared her experience of starting her career at Master Battery S.A. as an intern and subsequently joining the Engineering Department.
- The company also presented the internship, final year project and master’s thesis opportunities linked to the Master Battery–UPM Chair.
Madrid, 1 October 2026.– Master Battery S.A. has once again taken part in the Business Day organised by the Higher Technical School of Engineering and Industrial Design (ETSIDI) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, an event aimed at connecting students with companies and facilitating access to work placement opportunities, employment and academic projects
Master Battery’s participation forms part of its collaboration with the University through the Master Battery–UPM Chair, based at ETSIDI, which aims to promote training, research, knowledge transfer and the integration of university talent into the business world.
Work placements and career opportunities at Master Battery
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by Gloria Pacios, an engineer at Master Battery, who explained the company’s main areas of activity and shared her own career journey.
Pacios started at Master Battery on an internship and, upon completing this period, joined the Engineering Department on a permanent contract. His experience enabled him to show students how an internship can become an opportunity to take part in real projects, gain technical expertise and develop a professional career within the company.
During his talk, he encouraged the students to explore the opportunities offered by Master Battery in a strategic sector such as energy storage, highlighting the young age of the workforce and the chance to get involved in engineering, renewable energy and new technology projects right from the start of their careers.
In addition, company representatives spoke personally with interested students to inform them about the nature of the work placements, the profiles sought and how to apply.
Technology and innovation in energy storage
The presentation also gave students an insight into Master Battery’s work in the development of batteries and energy storage solutions, as well as its expertise in engineering, BESS systems and the integration of renewable energy.
The company showcased some of its R&D capabilities, including its new testing laboratory and its own photovoltaic generation and storage facility.
Work placements, final-year undergraduate projects and final-year master’s theses with the Master Battery–UPM Chair
The event also served to provide information on opportunities for work placements, final-year undergraduate projects and final-year master’s theses arising from the collaboration between Master Battery and the UPM.
Through the Master Battery–UPM Chair, students can engage with initiatives relating to research and new energy storage technologies. As an example, a study on the potential of sodium-ion batteries for energy storage was presented, developed with the participation of experts from CIEMAT and the UPM.
Ciudadenergía and collaboration with university projects
The event was also attended by Ciudadenergía, an initiative launched by Master Battery as a platform for raising awareness and bringing energy technologies closer to the educational and university community.
Students were able to find out about the site visits and technical seminars held at its facilities, as well as potential avenues for collaboration on projects led by UPM students, such as MotoStudent UPM, relating to innovation, applied engineering and prototype development.
In this way, Master Battery, the Master Battery–UPM Chair and Ciudadenergía are strengthening their collaboration with the University and their support for young talent, introducing students to technological projects and the professional realities of the energy sector.
