- Hernández encourages entrepreneurs to ‘persevere and trust in their project, innovate and always stand out from the crowd’.
Madrid, 02.10.25 - El Español and Banco Santander have launched a new episode of their podcast Learning to Be an Entrepreneur, entitled ‘The value of recognition: from innovation to the Master Battery award’. In this edition, Juan Carlos Hernández, co-CEO of Master Battery, talks to María Jesús Luengo, director of the Office of the President of the Chamber of Commerce, about how business recognition drives the consolidation and growth of innovative SMEs to become large companies.
During the conversation, Hernández highlighted Master Battery's recent award of the 2024 Madrid SME Prize, granted by the Chamber of Commerce, emphasising that the award is ‘a source of pride and motivation for the entire team, a recognition of the company's innovation, effort and vision for the future’. He also emphasised that such distinctions reinforce the confidence of customers and partners and project the brand into new markets.
The co-CEO reviewed the company's track record, specialising in batteries and energy storage systems for self-consumption, security, telecommunications and electromobility, a key sector in the energy transition. From its first solutions for self-consumption to its expansion into storage systems (BESS), Master Battery has been firmly committed to R&D and collaboration with academic institutions such as the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
Regarding the impact of recognition, Hernández highlighted that the SME Award ‘multiplies visibility and credibility in the market, facilitates the attraction of talent and opens the door to new alliances and business opportunities,’ thus consolidating the company's position in a highly competitive and constantly evolving sector.
Among its upcoming challenges, Master Battery plans to consolidate its leadership in Spain, drive its international expansion, continue innovating in sustainable solutions, and prepare for its IPO as an engine for growth. At the same time, the company maintains its commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by collaborating with start-ups in the Community of Madrid through the MIEB project, in which it offers mentoring and support to new initiatives.
As a final message, Juan Carlos Hernández encouraged entrepreneurs to ‘persevere and trust in their project, innovate and always differentiate themselves, without forgetting that recognition is a lever for visibility and growth that opens up new opportunities’.
The full episode will be available on the usual El Español and Banco Santander platforms.
